Guide to clothing size system updates

Important
If you have active listings in the women’s fashion category that were uploaded before 10 November 2025, please review the items’s assigned sizing as it may be incorrect.
You may have noticed that, in the past, UK-sized clothing items on Vinted were sometimes labelled with the wrong international letter or numerical size. We’ve made some recent updates to the way clothing sizes appear in listings to ensure that the sizes you see more accurately reflect established international sizing standards.
While we understand that it may take some time to adjust to these changes, ultimately, the move to a new sizing system will make it easier to understand how garments are sized, regardless of the item’s brand or origin.
Below, you’ll find more information about what’s changed, how you may be impacted, and steps we recommend taking to ensure a smooth transition.
What’s changed?
In our old sizing system, numeric sizes scaled in a way that was inconsistent with the standard international letter size. For example, a UK size 16 was incorrectly paired to the letter size XXL. However, we found that other size systems typically align this size with the letter size L.
Our new system associates UK numeric sizes with a wider range of international letter sizes. In the table below, you can see a comparison of how UK letter sizes correlate to numerical sizes in both the new and old sizing systems (the example UK size 16 is highlighted for reference).

Sellers: double-check your listings
Please take some time to review any active listings in the Women’s fashion category that were uploaded before 10 November, 2025 to ensure that the items’s assigned sizing is still accurate. We recommend reviewing all items listed with a numeric size (such as UK 10, 12, 14 etc.), as they have been updated to new size ranges. We understand that this may be a significant task for some sellers, and apologise in advance for any inconvenience.
To review or update the sizes on your listings:
Go to your Profile and select an item to review
Press Edit listing
Scroll to the Size section and compare the size you see to the size tag on the actual garment:
If the size is correct, no further action is needed
If the size is incorrect, select the most accurate new size option. For example, if the size on the item’s tag is UK 12, but the item is now listed as UK 16-18, you’ll need to select the new size M / UK 12-14. (Tip: If your item is a specific UK numeric size (e.g., 14), select the new size range that encompasses that number (e.g., M / UK 12-14). If your item is labelled with a letter size (S, M, L), select M / UK 12-14.)
Best practices for new listings:
When creating new listings, be sure to select the size range that includes the number on the item’s tag. You can also provide additional clarity and trust to buyers by:
Adding size details to the description – include the precise details from your item’s size tag in the listing description (example: "Label says UK 12").
Including pictures of the item’s tag – include a clear picture of the garment’s size tag in your listing photos.
Buyers: update your search filters
When you filter search results for a specific size, such as UK 12, you may see results labelled with a corresponding new size range, like M / UK 12-14. While your search results will still be accurate, you’ll now see a wider variety of items that fit the updated size categories. For the best search results, we recommend updating the size preferences for your profile.
To update your preferences:
Press your Profile icon
Choose Personalisation from the dropdown menu
Press Categories and sizes
Press Sizes under the category “Women”
Use the checkboxes to select your preferred sizes
More tips to help your search:
Try filtering by size range. For example, if you’re usually a UK 12, you should now use the “M / UK 12-14” size filter, or, if you usually search for size M, you should now choose “M / UK 12-14.”
If you’re unsure of an item’s size, try checking the listing for pictures or the size tag, reading the item’s description (as many sellers include details from the original tag size), or starting a chat with the seller to ask for the tag size or exact measurements."
