Collectible mid-century kitsch. This matching set of vintage black poodle salt and pepper shakers features a glossy black glaze over a red clay base which is classic for Japanese redware from the 1950s or 1960s. They feature hand-painted red bowties, bright red inner ears, and white spaghetti-fur textured muzzles. Both shakers have their original foil or paper Japan export labels still attached to the unglazed bases. They are in very good vintage condition with bright paint and no visible chips or cracks. Both original cork stoppers are included though they have been pushed slightly inside the base cavities. They measure approximately 3.5 inches tall. Perfect for retro kitchen decor, novelty shaker collectors, or poodle lovers. Shipped safely with extra fragile padding.
