Striking signed handmade raku-fired ceramic lidded bowl featuring a large sculptural turquoise fish across the lid. The cream-colored body has a dramatic crackle finish with dark detailing, while the dimensional fish features beautiful turquoise/teal glazing, textured fins and a red eye.
The fish forms the decorative centerpiece and handle of the removable lid. The piece is artist signed/marked on the underside; artist is currently unidentified. An accompanying handwritten tag describes it as a “Raku Fired decorative fish lidded bowl.”
Wonderful one-of-a-kind-looking studio pottery piece for a raku collection, coastal décor, fish collector or decorative art display.
Condition: Very good pre-owned condition. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Crackling/crazing throughout is characteristic of the raku-style finish and part of the design. Please review all photos.
